If I was talking to someonee else in the world I would tell them about……

These questions are from mrs murch’s blog at http://murch.globalteacher.org.au/                                      On the 28th of July, Mrs Leo came from Boston, north eastern USA, into our grade 6 and 7 class. She used “virtual classroom software” which has been developed by an Australian, to share some powerpoint slides, audio, video and chat. Let’s reflect on this amazing lesson and write a post about it.

Leo pressented  some slides to us about:

• pictures of apex park
• aerial view of Hawkesdale
• Vegemite
• a lizard and many more.

These are some of the questions she asked us:

• What is Vegemite and how do you eat it?
• What is a lizard and what does t eat?
• What is a soccer oval?

The question that surprised me the most was:

• What is a soccer oval?

Did you learn anything new during the session? Yes

I think that Leo would have learnt a lot about Hawkesdale and the different animals and things in and around Hawkesdale because the people who spoke to her explained things very well. 

What skills do you think we need to develop and improve upon to successfully participate in such a class?

• Speak louder and clearer into the microphone.

Can you see this as being the classroom of the future? Why or why not?

Yes I could imagine it being the classroom of the future because it will get very popular in the world and people will start using it more and I think it will turn into a future classroom.

Yestirday some of the grade five six’s had winter sports in Port Fairy. I was in the A team. The A team won all there games and get to go to Portland on Friday. I was mainly goal attack. I am happy that we won all our games, but I am cross because I won’t be able to play on Friday in Portland because I have to get my braces on. The B team won all there games to but they don’t get to go any further. The teams were mixed between Hawkesdale and Woolstorpe.

My Cluster Map is very dear to me. I look at it every time I go on my blog and I count all the dots I have. It is really exciting when I get dots from other places in the world. I am really excited when I see another dot appear on my Cluster Map. I am getting lots of dots from around the world.

This is on Bexta’s blog. Our maths teacher is away on Holidays and she put a question up for the week. This is the question.            Ok clever grade 6’s….

1. I didn’t go on a holiday or go camping.
2. I didn’t catch up with my friends.
3. I didn’t go to Fun 4 Kids.
4. I didn’t get wetor sick.
5. I didn’t do any fun stuff.
6. I didn’t go to bed before 10 O’clock.
7. I didn’t go to the movies or watch any DVD’s or videos.
8. I didn’t go to school.
9. I didn’t bake any cakes or slices.
10. I didn’t read more than two books. 

Today, we went back to school. Two of our main teachers are away on holidays, so we had two different teachers. It was hard to wake up early in the morning and get ready for school. We had Maths period one, period two, we had Literacy, then we had recess. After recess we had double literacy, then it was lunch time. After lunch we had RE , (Religious Education) then we had sport. In literacy, we did a biography of someone in thee classroom and we found a book, that we are going to change into our own words and draw pictures, to make a book to read to little kids.

On Saturday I played netball at willaura against Moyston/Willaura. We won . It was 43 to  about 33.  I was off the first quarter, then I played WA, WA  then GS. I got one  goal, and I got the chocolate award.
